kayah's 1 month birthday is here...

One month old today! She is so beautiful. I love her so much. I have had the best month learning all about my little girl. She is amazing. My time at home with her is coming to an end quickly, though. Work is looming in the not-so-distant future. I thought I had found an in-home daycare for Kayah. The lady was very nice and it seemed like a really good situation. However, the day after giving the woman my deposit to hold Kayah's spot until I go back to work, she called saying that she now couldn't take Kayah. Very disappointing because I thought I had finally figured out where my little girl was going to spend her days away from me. But no. The lady was nice enough to call around to other in-home providers for me and found another woman with a possible opening for me to call. Come to find out, this new woman is actually one that I had originally wanted to have as Kayah's daycare provider, but I didn't think she had any openings, so I didn't even try calling her. I spoke with her on the phone and it sounds like she'll have an opening starting on October 5th, which is about the time that I'll need someone. Her program is awesome; she even has curriculum for infants and toddlers. She likes to do long-term care, so Kayah would grow up knowing her as almost a part of the family. She has a special plan just for teachers so Kayah's spot would be held through the summer even though she would be at home with me. It just seems like the best place for Kayah...much better than the first place even. I'm meeting with her next week, so say a prayer or two that things work out. I'll just keep saying the little prayer I've said my whole life, "If it was meant to be, let it be, or help me find my way." I know God & Josh will help me figure this out. I want Kayah to be in the safest, most nurturing environment that she can be in when I'm away from her.

I also started my Masters program last week. Seems to be going well so far. Kayah and I have a deal worked out. She keeps me up at night so that I can get my work done. Ha! This first class has a lot of busy-work, but I think it's just to get us acquainted with the whole on-line program so we are prepared for all of the classes that follow. I can't wait until next November when I can say I'm finished with my Masters! It'll be a lot of hard work between now and then, but I'm willing to do it for my family; for Kayah and I. I just have to make things work.

Now, I will leave you with the newest pictures of Kayah Luann. One of which you will find quite amusing, I'm sure.
